Why do you think they'd earn more? No holiday or sickness pay, no bonuses, have to provide their own equipment - and they have to find clients. No brainer for many.
You miss the point. Very likely the cleaners ARE self-employed. And their employers would prefer this because it's less work for dealing with their tax.
Because the art of earning someones business is the tough part. some people are good al cleaning,but not good at going out to give estimates on the cost and trying to get new peoples business. They would rather have a job with consistent hours and a consitent paycheck
