What age group would buy biodegradable gum?

I don't see any specific age group....it's always certain sections of society. Like I'm anti recycling plastic....people need to reduce plastic consumption and recycling makes people think they are heros when they are part of the problem. It pollutes to create the plastic and also when it's recycled. Less plastic bottles isn't the major issue.

On that note, as a 30 year old, I don't see a need for biodegradable gum. In a landfill, nothing biodegrades due to everything being crushed and burried...no oxygen reaches the bacteria that need to eat it. In a stream, so what, a few dead fish.

First of all you need to find out the age range that purchase normal gum. Biodegradable means nothing to kids so you can drop kids out of the age range and unless there is a massive education campaign, biodegradable also means nothing to teens and adults except the small percentage with high eco-awareness. This will be a premium product since you cannot mass produce this affordably at the same price point as normal gum so you are looking at consumers who are gum-chewing eco-aware teens and adults with disposable income. Since the consumption volume of gum decreases with age, you can assume those above 30 will not be regular buyers. I would peg the potential age range to be 14-29.

Personally i think a business making and selling Bio-Degradable chewing gum would either be a non starter or fold within it's first year. Just who would care and pay a premium for this product is hard to imagine. As the average piece of gum is, i presume as i don't use it, about the size of a Broad Bean at most it is hardly likely to be a huge ecological problem is it.
