Why aren't you getting paid for 3 weeks?
Also consider taxes will be taken off on this -income tax you'll get back end of year if this is your only income, but payroll taxes are non-refundable. So you won't make the full amount,
Knock off about 1/3 from your estimate for taxes.
You know computers double in speed every 2 years, your $1400 investment will depreciate pretty quickly,
I would suggest you find something cheaper you can live with.
$8.00 an hour is before taxes are deducted - you don't take home that much in your paycheck - it will therefore take you more than 13 weeks
Don't forget about taxes, you will get a paycheck that is about 15% less than the GROSS.
I want to get a job at McDonalds so I can get a new computer, it costs around $1,400. I'm only 15 so I can only work 18 hours a week and 3 hours a day. So I did the math, but I'm not sure if this is correct. Minimum wage in my area $8.00 per hour, so if I were to work all 18 hours I would get paid $144 a week, but since McDonalds pays biweekly, I'd be getting paid $288 every two weeks right? So I found out that I would have to work 13 weeks in order to get the computer, that includes the first 3 weeks in which I am not paid. I'm just wanting to make sure that this is actually how it is supposed to be, if anyone could help me clear the air if I got this wrong then that'd be great.
