It wont look stupid at all, economic times are very hard it would make sense seeing a young person like your self looking for job experience. Do it get as much experience as you can, iv noticed that most employers are looking for experience now, because it seems everyone has these A - C grades but no social/working experience.

I want to get into the fashion and media business when i leave university. I currently have a YouTube channel with over 10k viewers and I think that may help me in some way with the media side of things.

I have thought about maybe going into a few shops and doing work experience, but will that make me look stupid and like nowhere else other than high street stores will let me work there?

I am expected to get all A's in my GCSE's so I dont want to do work experience that might end up reflecting badly in the future.
