So there are seven portions to divide out, one getting 3 portions and the other getting 4 portions.
28/7 = ￡4 for each portion.
￡4 x 3 equals one persons share whilst ￡4 x 4 the other persons share.
Proof ￡12 + ￡16 = ￡28
3:4 means I get 3 and you get 4, 3+4=7 28/7=4 so I get 12 and you get 16
