Question about starting a small business?

I don't know if you can sell one single recipe alone to a store. You could probably sell it to an author for a cook book but I can't imagine anywhere else it would sell. How would you sell a recipe to a supermarket? For people to buy it, it has to be printed out and one single recipe would only be a page. You could try selling it to a cook magazine maybe. Maybe you can sell it to a supermarket, retail store, etc but I don't see how.

With reference to Mintyblueair I presume you mean to sell the made up dish as a ready made meal.

I doubt if supermarkets would be interested in 1 item and whether you could produce the quantity they would require.

Chains have central buyers.

You could try local sole owner delis and cafes.

Remember though that there are all sorts of rules and regulations regarding sales of food to the public and where it is prepared.

Thank you for your answer.

I created a recipe that I would like to package and sell to retail stores, super markets as well as to individuals.. but not in a store front. I have the recipe and I'm ready to make it. Can you tell me what my next step in creating my small business would be? Thank you.
