Is there an ATM fee for payroll cards?

Posted at: 2014-12-08
I have a visa payroll debit card and i was wondering if some/any atm machines charge a fee for withdrawals?

yes there is some fee meant for it,there is new atm machine that is CoinOutlet’s ATM has been designed and built to overcome the current obstacles in getting Bitcoin for cash. By handling AML / KYC it is compliant with FinCEN regulations.

Ease of use

The ATM display is designed to permit a smooth and straight forward workflow. The consumer scans a wallet to start the process. The ATM determines whether the scanned wallet is valid.

The consumer then can put cash into the ATM. Each transaction is converted to a Bitcoin amount based on the current price which was locked-in when the wallet is scanned.

The total value of Bitcoin purchased is shown on the screen as a running total, and at the end of the transaction, a receipt is printed with the details of the transaction.

It depends upon the card issuer. There are many card issuers which do not charge any fee and also various big names which generally charge a nominal fee.

There are no absolutes where transaction based banking is concerned, and the Visa Payroll Card is an example of this because the possible costs to the employee for each transaction is different depending on who issued the cards to the employer. It is not just small banks doing this; even the major named banks can place numerous fees on the payroll cards they issue.

Recommend going online to look at the listed fees and restrictions for the specific bank which issued the Visa Payroll Card on which your pay earnings are being deposited. That will give you the correct information for the prepaid card you hold.

ADD'L...

The following is an example only, and may not pertain to the payroll card you currently have.

Accessing the money on a Citi Pay Card requires the employee to use one of the ATM's within the card network. This will eliminate a transaction surcharge when you get spending cash from the Citi Pay Card. Using an ATM outside the card network will result in a transaction surcharge. Ask for cash back when you make a store purchase and there may be a transaction fee. Also, there may be a lower dollar maximum on the amount you can withdraw weekly, and even a limit on the number of no charge withdrawals you can make. If you use the ATM to inquire about the card balance, there will be a charge, but if you go online to check the balance, there will not be a charge. There is even a charge if the card stays inactive for thirty days; no deposits, no withdrawals, no purchases. This is not a complete list of possible charges for using the Citi Pay Card.

Generally....Yes.

In fact, there may be two fees. One from the card issuer and one from the ATM owner.
