Then the next one found three root canals. She said I had to have another one done the second year, so I left. She wanted to put a cap on a capped tooth. I don't think she realized it wasn't an original tooth anymore because it had a filling.
Then I went back to my old dentist, who now said I had gingivitis, which is an eight hour procedure and at least $2,000.
I don't have a medical condition that messes up my teeth so all these procedures seem excessive. :/
Your dentist sounds like a crook, a lot of dentists perform fake and unnecessary repairs on people's teeth in order to get rich quickly. Best you change him immediately and hopefully you will find an honest one next time around.
It would be better if you could switch to a reputed dentist in the City.
I would suggest Dr. Gary E. Alhadef, DDS at Dallas. I've been to him for the past ten years and haven't been imposed with any unnecessary dental repairs or charges. He and his staff treats me with immense care and the dentist explains me each and every thing so clearly and helps me take better decisions about my dental health.
He will be my doctor of choice for the years ahead too. I would put his website below for your reference. Please do visit Dr. Alhadef at the earliest possible.
Get a second opinion. If they both suggest the same thing then I would believe it. I'm not a dentist, but I know many try to tackle on different procedures to charge the insurance companies or you.
I went to the dentist with a cracked filling and came out with him saying I had 3 cavities (one bad and 2 ones that weren't bad at all). I scheduled and appointment the next day where he did all 3 teeth and fixed my broken filling. All of these were the back corners of my mouth all different corners with the broken filling on middle bottom left. When he finished he said all 3 cavities were very bad and the broken filling also had a cavity. He talked about maybe having to get a crown for some of the teeth later and ended our visit with I think I got all the decay out... I THINK?! is that normal? I had a dentist in Iowa where I lived for 16 years and I moved to Texas and tried a doctor who thinks he did the job right! I'm looking for some clarification on if I'm over reacting or if I should maybe go see another dentist and make sure the job was done right.
