I want to get a gym membership but...?

My local YMCA has special considerations for low income individuals. School gyms can be cheaper too, as can community centres. Some local gyms might trade labor for membership too. See what you can arrange with various people. Private gyms are not likely to accept anything but money though.

No.

The only thing that I have seen is partial help though employer-sponsored health insurance.

Be careful with health club memberships. They are harder to get out of than marriages.

If you want a cheap gym get off your *** and go for a run around the block. No charge at all.

Looking at rates, it's going to be a bit spendy. For me and my girlfriend, it'll cost roughly 80 dollars a month. Her health insurance will not help. I thought I'd ask the community for knowledge.

Basically, I'm just curious if the government, or private companies, offer grants for fitness wellness programs for certain situations, like low income or something? Is there anything out there to help with gym memberships?
