Send an invoice to the buyer. If you did not directly state when you expect to be paid in your listing then they might take their time about paying you. You can not even file a non payment dispute until after 4 days have passed since the listing ended.
Your payment, when they pay you, will go into your PayPal account. As a new seller they will hold your payment for up to 21 days or until the buyer leaves feedback so you need to have the extra money to ship the item with separate. In SOME cases your money may be released sooner if you can prove delivery. Your money will remain in your PayPal account until you request it be transferred to your checking account. You can also request a paper check.
By eBay rules you are not allowed to ask for personal checks or money orders. By PayPal rules if you do not ship with some form of on line tracking and the buyer says they didn't get it then you will be forced to give the money back. If the item arrives broken or not as described they can also open a dispute and get their money back. Learn all the rules.
You should have a paypal account connected to your ebay. Then after the person buys something from you, it shows in your paypal. Then you have a hold on the money, meaning its frozen until the person gives you feedback or a few days have passed
How are they paying you? If its through PayPal you have the money in your PayPal account and can withdraw the money from there to your bank account or credit card on file.
If they're mailing you a personal check you wait til it arrives deposit it, wait for it to clear and mail the item to the buyer.
Paypal will tell you the money is in your paypal account. Then you go on Paypal and withdraw the money, which they will then send to your bank account. It does not happen automatically.
