These are minimum costs and will run more than that especially when you have to start marketing campaigns against your competition with Baskin Robbins, Cold Stones Ice Cream, & Forster's Freeze which are all corporations that have been in business for more than 50 years.
Even being small time, you'll need all the required permits/licenses just to sell in a park event, swapmeet, or flea market.
First decide what kind of ice cream shop you want. You might start with and ice cream truck selling novelties to children. You would need a truck, business license and some freezers then only some music to bring in customers and a small inventory. You might be able to buy an existing truck used.
If you want a ice cream shop like with 5 gallon cans of ice cream in many flavors and tables and chairs you will need to lease space, buy freezers, furniture, cash registers, advertizing, large inventory, dishes and spoons and some toppings and cones.
If you want just a storefront cone shop with no chairs, no dishes and only a few flavors you might only need one freezer but would want something to make your cones worth more money like making waffle cones in the window and quality ice cream in unique flavors. A large cone for an adult might be $5 if special instead of a McDonald's cone for 49cents.
I would start by saving $10K before trying to get more financing. Then I would work a job night shift and sell ice cream days until you make a profit. You could run a ice cream truck only short hours like noon to 5 so you could still work a few hours to support the business.

I love ice cream all kind so i was thinking why not open a ice cream shop, i have couple of ideas but i don't know much about ice cream business, what do i need to start ? How much money should i save before going to the bank ? Around how much is going to cost.
