why don't you just ask her?

If you take your card and the amount of money you want to put on to it into your local bank branch, they will do it for you. If you have several bank accounts, you can normally also open an online account with your bank and transfer money between your accounts (for example some money out of your savings account onto your card).

If I have cash, to put it on my card I go down to my local bank and give it in with my card information. It usually goes on to the card straight away.

If you have online banking, your mother could have sent it from her account to yours over the internet.
