Example:
What is 10% of 10000?
Lets first convert 10% to a decimal number, to do so you can either divide it by 100 or faster do it in your head:
10% ÷ 100 = 0.10
You could also move forward two decimals points like:
4% = 0.04
12% = 0.12
42% = 0.42
100% = 1
If you had a decimal in a percentage do:
2.6% = 0.026
12.43% = 0.1243
Multiply your number by the decimal we figured out (0.10).
10000 x 0.10 = 1000.
There is other ways, but I'd recommend learning this way, as its the most suitable option for when you don't have a scientific calculator.
