How do you make a resume?

Google Documents is definitely free with a Google account. Microsoft Word is better.

If you get that far (Google Docs), you have at your disposal a moderately full-featured word processor. There are probably also other free solutions online, I am commenting on what I know.

There are 1,001 schools of thought on resume creation. No one expects a young person with little experience to be a rocket scientist. Keep it to one page, to start.

The difficult part is to determine keywords that pass you through the screeners. For professional roles, and probably just about all others as-well, that's all automated (software) these days.

Was going to write more, but it doesn't matter for a first resume. The format that works for me is as-follows:

Name

address

email

website

phone number

(Statement of who you are. Example: ACCOUNT EXECUTIVE, MOBILE SERVICES

Max four lines describing the above.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS

Six or seven bullet points. Less is fine.

EXPERIENCE

Company name, City, State

Position titles, Month Year - Current

Couple bullet points describing key accomplishments

Next Company name, City, State

Position title, Month Year - Month year

And so on...

EDUCATION

University or High School name, City, State. Degree obtained, year.

CERTIFICATIONS:

Certification name, Certifying authority, year obtained.

Google: Sample Resume (followed by your job choice)

job choice example fast food.

Are you typing the word free in your search?

This will give you all sort of sites that will charge you.

Never google the word free.

Ask here if you need more help. This is easy to find.

I'm applying for jobs online & they require resumes. However, as I search on Google, apparently it's not free? Is there any site that can make one for free or is there any microsoft programs I can use?

Thanks!! 10 points for best answer =]
