I'd suggest by handing out flyers to people you know. Charge a decent amount, 6-10$ per hour, depending on the kid and age. You could even babysit at your house instead of the other way around.
Not trying to put you down, but 12 is too young to babysit. Babysitters need to be mature and able to handle themselves and others completely.
