As with any business you must invest time and money.
■ Make some business cards
■ Make flyers
■ Make a one page website of your service
■ Wear a neat uniform. I used scrubs.
■ If you have a smart phone, order a SQUARE D card reader. Its free and makes handling credit cards super easy.
I did this when I was in Atlanta and I had a designated room that had educational things on the walls and other play things. The parents were impressed that I took my job seriously. Its all about presentation!
Sign up at www.care.com. parents can see a picture of you and a profile. Flyers are still a good idea, but people want to SEE who they are leaving their kids with. I would continue to post them but also pass them out to parents as you see them at the store or out and about.
Simply say if you or anyone you know can use my services please contact. Thanks!
Different states have different laws to how many kids you can keep at a time without a license. In GA its 5 kids. Good luck!
Write and print a pamphlet that you distribute to the neighbors and your area. Printing these by a printing company gives you a slick look, but it does cost. That may be what you need to do, though, to start getting business.
Go to your church and ask if you can post information in the fellowship area.
I've tried before with flyer. I put them up in area were lots of kids are. All the tear always were gone but I didn't get any calls. Help!
