Q2. no.
Q3. You can get your registered trademark at any time. But it is good for up to 3 years before earning income on the mark. If you don't have any earned income on the mark in 3 years, the registered trademark is dead.
You are missing some steps in the production process.
1. Have you perfected the pattern with a fit model. This is a professional model that has a specific size that you and her confirm is the right size. You determine your standard size and then select a fit model that is that size. The model will be able to tell you exactly what is wrong with the garment. It is money WELL WELL SPENT.
- you can mess around trying to fit the pattern or you can pay this model once and correct the pattern.
2. Do you have a professional pattern? If the person who made the pattern is not trained in pattern making, the production company will have a difficult time reading the pattern.
3. Have you had the pattern graded? This means that the pattern is made into the other sizes.
4. Have you developed your technical specifications. This tells the production company exactly how to make the garment for all the different sizes.
5. Do you have a cutter? Cutters cut the fabric. They don't manufacture the garment.
Hi,
I want to start my own fashion line, I am at the stage where I have the drawn design, pattern and one piece prototype sample made for each design. I have a few questions regarding to manufacturing using the prototype:
1) If I sent the prototype to the manufacturer, how will they have the fabric needed?
2) Should I be worried that my idea will be stolen by the manufacturer? What can I do to prevent this from happening?
3) When is the best time to register the brand name? Once I have all the product made, or should I register right away?
Thank you very much for your help :-)
