If PayPal refunds them they take the money from your account. If the money is not in your account they will take it from your funding sources. If you remove your card details it will mean your account is in default and they will eventually turn it over to a collection agency that will add on their own charges and interest. You will end up owing more. They will hound you with regular mail, phone calls, emails, until they decide you just aren't going to pay your bill and then they will take you to court. The judge will rule in their favor and you may even be forced to pay their attorney fees on top of it.
They will ding your credit for the next several years. That may not sound like much of a threat at first until you go to buy a car, a new phone service, rent an apartment, buy a house, get a job, etc. When these places find out you are a deadbeat the cost will either go up or you will be denied.
Don't try to cheat. It never works out well.
"if I have a negative balance on paypal they will have to deal with it themselves right?"
You think you can rip off Paypal that easily? LOL! You're either a child who's prohibited from using Paypal in the first place, or you are too dumb to sell on eBay.
Roddy is absolutely right.
Smart sellers do not sell anything on eBay they cannot afford to lose and pay eBay 10% for the privilege.
Hi guys,
So I'm a seller on eBay with some reputation. Good ratings. I recently sold a brand new flagship phone for nearly $600 and the buyer has 4 ratings. Immediately after he wins the auction he pays me with an eCheck. Rarely does anyone ever pay with an eCheck. It took several days to clear. Now if I transfer all my money to my brother's paypal and the guy back charges, will a negative balance result in my paypal or my bank/credit card that's attached to it? I mean I'm transferring the money so I don't lose it in case he IS a scammer and if I have a negative balance on paypal they will have to deal with it themselves right? Thanks!
