You aren't covered by seller protection where an item is collection only, so refund and have done.
When you sold items local pirckup only and accepted Paypal payment, you set yourself up to be ripped off completely and you're actually very lucky you haven't been. The buyer could have picked up all 3 items and filed an INR claim. Since you didn't ship, you have no way to prove the buyer received the items and Paypal would have simply taken the money out of your account and refunded the buyer. That's why you only accept CASH for local pickup items. eBay allows this, but people don't usually look at eBay for used furniture. That's craig's domain.
Since the buyer opened a claim against you, it's extremely likely Paypal will refund his entire payment, so cut your losses. List the two sofas you still have on craigslist. You may not be able to sell them for as much as you "sold" them for on eBay, but if the sofas are nice you should be able to get something for them and most importantly, get rid of them TODAY.
As for the eBay buyer, add him to your blocked bidders list and quit communicating with him. If he shows up on your doorstep, tell him he broke his promises to come pick them up multiple times, so they are no longer available. He will probably leave you nasty feedback, but you can mitigate it if you word your response carefully.
If by any chance he does show up and you still have the sofas, DO NOT give them to him until AFTER he closes the case against you. In fact, it would be far safer for you to insist that he pay the full amount in cash and you refund his Paypal payment.
I have sold 2 sofas and an armchair on ebay. I listed them as collect only. The buyer has collected the armchair and has said he will collect the other two towards the end of the week. It has now been 2 weeks and I have messaged him several times asking him to collect them and each time he has said he will definitely pick them up tomorrow. I need them gone asap so I can start redecorating my home. I am fed up. `Today I messaged him again saying if he does not collect the sofas in the next two days I will have no choice but to refund him and deduct the amount for the armchair which he now has. He has now opened a case against me on ebay saying "the item is not as described, I have only received one armchair".
How can I resolve this? ebay doesn't appear to have a section for this particular situation.
