If he has written out in words the sum in the numbers box then the cheque is void and the bank will return it to him as unpayable.
Try it. Bankers mostly just look at the numbers, but technically the check should be void since the written words don't match the figures.

My father wrote me a check for accommodation next year where it says £904.94 in the number section but he has written ' nine hundred and four pounds and ninety pounds'. will this be an issue? I have had an argument with him and i know he will refuse to rewrite the cheque
