Send her a certified letter on letterhead that looks like it's from a lawyer's office threatening her with a lawsuit for breach of contract if she does not repay the debt. State that if found guilty in court not only will she owe the $100 but she will also owe your legal fees when you win and those fees can easily be over $5000 and her wages will be garnished. Say that she must repay the full amount by xx date or papers will be filed in court, and you will also consider filing a theft report with the police. That may be enough to scare her

Kittysue's suggestion is the best. That's what most credit collection companies do to scare off people who aren't paying their loans and debts. :)

I hired a model to shoot some pictures with my product. She took $100 from me (which was a 50% deposit on the total project) and just took off. Obviously I can't take her to court since it would cost $100 in paperwork just to get a court date. What else can I do to recover my funds?
