winning a judgment does NOT mean you will get your money and that's why you then ask your attorney to get permission from the judge to attach anything else the person owns and garnish their wages.
There are two kinds of bankruptcy and that's a Chapter 7 where everything (except judgments) are washed away, or a Chapter 13 where a person must repay a percentage of everything they owe, so if they're doing a Chapter 13 then file a claim against that bankruptcy ASAP. When you do that ask your attorney if you can get anything at all back without filing against this person's wages since you might want to take anything you can get just to get this thing over with. You'd then claim the balance of your loss on your income taxes.
Filing bankruptcy can help a person by discarding debt or making a plan to repay debts. A bankruptcy case normally begins when the debtor files a petition with the bankruptcy court. A petition may be filed by an individual, by spouses together, or by a corporation or other entity.
They can file for bankruptcy. As a creditor, you have the right to protect against it.
I suppose that is possible to do, however, I think that you as the winner of suit can take everything the person has in any form or value that person has. You will have to do this with permission of the court. Good luck.

yep. even if they don't file, my guess is you'll never collect. no wages to garnish, no bank accounts to levy, no other assets !? am I right?
