But a more likely reason is the cost of feed and transportation has skyrocket in the last 15 years. Cattle production is affected by so many variables all of which add to the cost
Beef is so expensive because cows are demanding higher wages. They just can't live on minimum wage anymore
Beef feed is high, so beef cost so high.
The cost of gas and transportation has gone up which is a big part of it.
So take a look at the overall inflation rate. You'll see similar numbers.
