Which banks have free checking accounts?

Do you know of any banks that have free checking? So far I've checked Chase, Wells Fargo, and Bank of America. None of those have free checking.

Try your local credit unions. They may require you to have a savings account (share account) before allowing a checking account (share draft) but you can usually open the savings with only $5, and then later the checking with the same amount. Most basic Credit Union accounts are free.

You have to open a savings in order to open a checking, and a checking in order to get a debit card. But this should work for you and you will be happier than with a bank, I hope. Good luck.

They offer free checking with minimum account balances.

Many banks have free checking if you maintance a minimum balance.

Go to a credit union ... or maybe a smaller community bank.

Online banks such as Ally and Capital 360 having that. The only drawback is that you will never be able to deposit cash.

Screw banks. Go to your local credit union

Maybe this will help you.
