So I plan to buy some shoes on eBay that cost $225 but I can't tell if they're fake. Let's say I buy them and I don't know they're fake and then I sell it to someone else on eBay and they find out and report me to eBay or PayPal what happens then do I have to return the money? Also let's say I do notice they're fake what could I do to get my money back?

It's only a problem if the item is sold as genuine. If no misinformation is given then it's just a pair of shoes, fake or not.

The buyer of the fake goods can demand their money back for fraud/misrepresentation, and trading in illegal products. The buyer in each case can complain to Ebay or paypal and demand a chargeback.

I would never buy anything on ebay where there was that possibility - yes you would have to refund them
