This this a scam?

I got a job offer I am suppost to receive textbooks and ship them out with the postage stamps he gives me he says he is a contractor and he sends these books to a lot of compaines that pay is $500 a month is this a scam

You are being used to fence stolen property and are looking at 5-10 years in jail

Think about it -- why would ANYONE trust a complete stranger to mail textbooks to a third party when they could ship them directly to that person and not have to pay a middle man? If they weren't doing anything illegal, like buying the textbooks with stolen credit cards or hacked Paypal accounts, they would send them directly to the end user

The reason scammers need a middle man is because when the credit card/Paypal account holder reports the theft, the police arrest the person whose home the items were sent to

A friend's credit card number was stolen and someone charged over $3000 worth of electronics to it. The police arrested a 19 year old student who thought he was doing a 'job' shipping to his 'employer' in Ukraine. But the judge and jury didn't believe anyone would be stupid enough to accept and ship expensive items for a person they had never even met and not know they were involved in illegal activity

Sounds like a scam.

Typically, scams like this are quite bad. The items are purchased with stolen credit card numbers. When the scam unravels, the authorities only have one shipping address to go to; YOURS!

yes, Sounds like it.

You might not be receiving text books to reship to companies. You never know what is really in the box for you to reship.

It could be something illegal.

I bet its illegal stuff in the boxes, they need someone to send it. Guess who is the guilty party if the packages get caught?

of course its a scam

Yes it is.
