I was checking my voice mail and I got this message from this woman saying that she was calling about a check I allegedly wrote with the intent of fraud. She didn't tell me who this person was or the amount of the check, and what's weird is I haven't had a checking account in almost two years. I have a "debit" card and my benefits are directly deposited there and I just that as my "bank."

DO NOT call that number back. Those are scam calls. If you call back, they will try to get you to send money saying if you don't pay they will file police charges against you

If they call again and you answer, all you say is that they are to "Cease and Desist all calls to your number and all communication may only take place in writing"

Could be that someone has stolen your identity, you might keep a closer eye on your finantial statements for irregularities.

You can ignore that unless or until you get something in writing.

If you still have the message, you should play it for the cops.
