How would I go about getting my money back?

I recently ordered a package off of eBay. The item was sent (according to the tracking number) on 8/30. The tracking number also states it was delivered to my place 9/2. I still have not seen the package. It was a cheap video game I ordered. Less then 10 bucks. On the 6th I contacted the seller to see if he had an idea. He told me to contact USPS and to not contact him again regarding this issue.

I contacted my local office and they said they did not have a clue. I contacted the distribution center and they didn't know. I even talked to my actual carrier and he said he wasn't sure either. Apparently know has a clue where this package is. I want to file a claim but according to the website that tracking number isn't available to make a claim online. Do I need to physically go to my post office and file the claim? Every time I they calling them I either get a busy signal or no answer (from both the distribution center AND my local office). Its all really frustrating. I just want an idea on what I should do next.

If the item was marked delivered and you didn't get it, then you need to go to the post office and tell them, because the seller cannot help you.

If you file an item not received claim, you won't win because the buyer is protected as long as it says the item was received. If you lie and say it wasn't as described, they will make you send the item back to the seller and provide proof in order to get your money back.

eBay sellers are only required to purchase signature confirmation if the item is over $250 in value. Since it was a cheap purchase and you probably didn't buy insurance, then you are probably stuck unless you find someone else in your household took the package and didn't tell you about it.

Since it was marked delivered, someone else must have received it where you live. If the item was insured you can file a claim at the post office. If not, you have to wait 30 days to trace the lost item but since it was marked delivered I dont think anyone can help you. This is not the seller's fault. Dont call the post office, just go in to your local branch.

With regard to eBay, you're probably boned. The USPS is not obligated to put the package in your hands, only deliver it to your box. If the tracking info says it was delivered, you're going to have a hard time convincing eBay otherwise. Consider that you've probably already spent more than ten bucks chasing this issue down.

You won't get your money back. Deal with it.
