Does living frugally hurt the economy?

I'm frugal beyond belief (damn you Scottish Mother) and my personal economic situation has been improving immensely since I started.

It doesn't hurt the economy, but it doesn't help it either.

What's more important is what you contribute to the economy in terms of value. For example, if you're Bill Gates and you live frugally, you've contributed huge amounts to the economy, but being frugal isn't one of them.

If everyone did it, yes, it would greatly slow down the economy.

It does if everyone lived that way, but that will never happen.

Yes because you don't spend anything.

no because it means you are smart with your money and not accepting govt hand outs

interesting question, if everyone did it then yes it would restrict sales.
