Does UPS deliver early?

Posted at: 2015-07-28
I bought a new videocard from amazon and chose free shipping...mostly because the price of the card itself cost me a small fortune. It took them a few days to even send it to the carrier, but when UPS got it they were only a few hours away.

When it stopped for the weekend, it showed the package about thirty minutes away from me, but the delivery date is still saying it will come on Tuesday (the 7th) while it looks like it's more than close enough to arrive on Monday (the 6th).

What are the odds they'll actually deliver it a full day ahead of time with them being so close? I'm wondering because while I can get a day off to wait for the package on ONE of those days, I certainly can't do it for both.

Because I went with free shipping will they just keep it at the facility for an entire day to deliver it on the day after?

I have a job, I can't be home on both of those days.

UPS does not directly deliver the small packages. On Monday their driver will bypass your home and leave it at your local post office. On Tuesday it will come in your mail, USPS.

They will make 3 attempts to deliver your item. The driver should leave you a note. You can always contact UPS or go & pick the item up yourself .

My advice - sign up for UPS my choice - it's free

Good Luck

You do not have to stay home. All you need to do is wait for the attempted delivery notice, then go pick up the package yourself at the nearest distribution center.

Possible, but they might drop it off at your post office for them to deliver it, and that will take the extra day.
