Like for instance, I used to much data on my share of the phone bill. And my whole family is on it, but my mom pays for most of it. So I'm sending my mom a check and under the part on the check where it asks "for" I wanted to put something funny ..... But I wasn't sure if the bank would see and then not allow her to cash the check.
