I have my first debit card and my account was at 8$. I' didn't touch it since I didn't want the account to go negative, but I was signed up for 'free' months of things like one free month of netflix and 3 free months of magazines. I saw my account go to -11$ a few days ago and saw the charge for netflix on my account, I called immediately and the guy said he canceled and put the money back onto my paypal. The money never went back into the bank account, few days later (today) I check the account again and it's at -37$!! I'm living from paycheck to paycheck I really can't afford losing even 5 dollars yet alone 37, that's pretty much my cell phone bill. I check and saw two charges for netflix and a charge for magazines. I don't want these companies to keep mooching money off my account if I went into the bank and explained how I didn't want these charges, and tried cancelling or don't know how to cancel do you think they would refund me the 37$ and close the account completely?

Sounds like you didn't read the fine print of those offers. It's free for the first month or 3 months, but after that, they automatically charge you unless you cancel (cancel BEFORE the time is up).

And the bank is not likely to help you out. If you didn't cancel in time, the charges were authorized by you, and it takes time to reverse it. And why should the bank take your word for it? Do you have any documentation from these places that you cancelled? You could be someone that is lying to them just to get charges reversed.

You didn't even read the LARGE print on ANY of the agreements you made. A refund to PayPal ALWAYS stays in you PayPal account. To transfer it to your bank account, you have to SPECIFICALLY instruct PayPal to transfer it. The account balance keeps getting further negative because they charge DAILY overdraft fees until you deposit enough to cover ALL of the overdraft fees, AND the original overdraft. You AGREED to EVERY ONE of the charges and they WILL NOT be refunded. This is 100% YOUR fault, and you WILL pay for making commitments without reading them. Consider yourself lucky if you ONLY pay $100 tuition in the School of LIFE.

It can take up to 14 days for a Company to refund into your bank account. It is not instant.

To close the account u need to pay off the OVER draft charges b4 they increase next week.
