This is the "classic" Craigslist scam. I would just never respond to this and they will go away, but if you want you can write back and say "No, no checks of any kind. Cash only, and we will find a mutually convenient public place to make delivery." They may persist but will go away eventually. Please don't fall for this.

No. sold a house and got rid of tons of big things all had scammers like that for months as the stuff was going on. Big or small it all a scam to get free stuff.
