I will not mention my employers name. But say there is a 10% off discount on gift cards. I get an extra 20% off for my employee discount. Total of 30% off. I buy a $300 giftcard for $210, I go to a coinstar and turn in the giftcard for cash value, coinstar charges 3 cents on the dollar so I get $291 back from a $210 investment. Is this fraud?

NO, but maybe your employer has not found this. If he knew, I guess he would set some limits on the gift card or the employee discount.
