missed my package delivery?

Posted at: 2015-07-28
I ordered something from Amazon and paid extra for 1 day shipping like around 20 dollars in shipping well today i was waiting for my packages and i never heard a knock i tracked my package and said "attempted delivery" i was home the whole time what a lie!!! Is there a way i can get my money back for the one day shipping?

No I doubt it unless there was some complicated investigation into driver fraud. You still can't say if perhaps they got the address wrong, though I suppose that's on the tracking.

Ideally you have some sort of hard evidence of non delivery, otherwise you an try to make a stink with the delivery service, perhaps they can just identify an abnormal pattern of failed deliveries for that one route.

Who was the courier? If it was USPS, here is what you can do... Some USPS offices have "on time/live" tracking. You can find out where and when your package was "attempted". Call your local post office and complain. State that you were home all day, ask if they have live tracking, and have them locate where the package was delivered. If it was scanned at some other location than your home, then you have a case. You can then request a refund for the differential for one day delivery from the Post Office (not from Amazon). Also, complain to Amazon so that Amazon knows that the P.O. is messing up. When Amazon complains to the P.O. about their service, the P.O. responds... also, if the P.O. is discourteous to you, and won't refund your money, Amazon just might out of courtesy (and recoupe it themselves from the P.O..... or not).

You paid Amazon for the one-day delivery and they had it there on time so they can't be held responsible for you missing it. All you can do is call the delivery service to arrange for another delivery or you can retrieve your package at their terminal after the driver returns for the day.

Who is the shipper? Sometimes I noticed that my UPS packages say "attempted delivery" even when they haven't delivered it yet. I get upset, and then the package arrives like an hour later. Is there a notice on your door? If there's a little note on your door, then they did stop by, but you might have not heard the knock on the door or something...if that's the case, they probably won't give you your money back.

You can also try calling them. If you can catch them during business office hours, then they might even have it for you to pick up this evening.
