as many as you like
the PURITY of gold is measure in carats (24 carat = pure gold) and has NOTHING to do with its weight
You can have 1 gram of 24 carat gold, or 1 kilogram of 24 carat gold
you can have 1 gram of 12 carat gold or 1 kilogram of 24 carat gold
(but the second will have 1/2 the amount of pure gold as the 1st).
the weight of precious stones is measured in carats but gold ISNT
One gram equals 5 carats so a carat is much lighter than a gram.
For gold, carets are how pure it is not how many grams. 24 ct is pure. Any other number it's that many parts-per-24 fraction of gold. To get grams you need to convert the caret number into a percentage, then multiply that percentage by the weight of the item.
With gems carets give the weight. With gold it does not. It's confusing at first.
It is also strange that purity of gold is parts per 24 not percentage. This predates the metric system.
1 CARAT of gold means : if i take 24 grams of gold, it will contain
- 1 gram of pure gold
- 23 grams of other metals(like silver, copper, platinum)
24 CARAT means pure gold
When referring to gold carats are a measure of purity not of weight. 24 carat is pure gold. But gold is so soft it's usually alloyed with something else (usually silver) to make it hard enough to make jewellery. 9c gold is usually the most impure while still retaining the look of gold.
it depends upon how pure your gold is. 24 carat is entirely pure. there are 11.664 grams in one carat of gold.

1 carat= 1 gm gold+ 23 gm other metal mixer
Stones are measured to the nearest hundredth of a carat. A hundreth of a carat is also called a point.
