help!!! quit job in bad way?

Posted at: 2015-07-28
i hate my job at mcdonalds because of the anxiety it gives me and the way i was treated by the franchise manager. A few weeks ago i was given two shifts on the weekend before mid-term exams and i didnt show up and ignored all calls. I was disgusted by how i was treated had no respect for the store anymore

later that week i sent in my resignation and didnt give a 2-week notice because i couldnt face the possibility of seeing the franchise manager and also possibly being questioned about why i didnt show up for my shifts.

instead of accepting my resignation my store manager gave me time off and had a meeting with me but invited the franchise owner so i couldnt properly express why i hadnt shown up and had quit.

i cried a lot in the interview because i felt over powered and intimidated by the franchise owner. we came to an agreement that id work a few shifts a week.

i cant bring myself to work those shifts and want to re-quit but theres also a job vacancy at my local kmart that i applied to and im worried if i quit again that kmart might call my mcdonalds and will find out how i treated that job and wont hire me despite hearing my side of why i couldnt come to work.

basically i have shifts soon for mcdonalds that i really cant bring myself to work but i feel like i should give a proper 2weeks notice this time?

any suggestions or anything like that would be greatly appreciated

Quit the McDonalds job. You're no use to them and quite frankly you were lucky that you got a second chance. Not many employers would have been that tolerant and would have told you to mind the door on the way out. Not because you had exams but because you were unprofessional, self-absorbed and rude by not showing up, not calling in and not answering calls. You wanted pity and you received tolerance.

But - it's in the past now and nothing you can do about it. Start putting your applications in for other jobs and you'll have to let things take their course.

I have learned that when your in school and working it gets so stressful. I quit my job and I regret it. I had an argument with the manager so l left. Bad decision so find another job than quit current

I probably would have fired you for not answering the phone or explaining your absence, regardless of your level of "disgust" you were not being terribly responsible just flaking on them when different hours might have been negotiated. The stories your manager could tell might hurt future job searches.

How about learn some responsibility and show up for your job? Just a suggestion
