Will I get the subway job?

Posted at: 2015-07-28
Hi, so I applied for a sandwich artist job at subway on the 7th July, got a call just over a week ago on Thursday but I missed it, but they called back on the Friday and I had a short telephone interview(questions such as 'tell me of a time when you received good customer service', 'if a customer was unsure then how would you help them as we are right next to a Burger King') and she seemed impressed with my answers so then I got invited to interview this Thursday just gone.

I attended the interview, I dressed smart, I made eye contact, I smiled, I answered all of their questions properly and I left feeling like the interview went pretty well. I also asked when that particular store opens(it's a new store yet to open so this made me think they are trying to fill more than one position), if there is a chance of advancement within the company and when I could expect to hear back and they said 'within a couple days'.

It is 3 days after the interview and I haven't heard anything yet. Bear in mind all communications have been in the afternoon(phone calls, interview) so will they call this afternoon? I really want this job!

No way for anyone here to tell. But it's not a worry that it's been 3 days and you haven't heard yet.

good luck

They may never call. Most employers these days only ring the people they actually offer a job to: they don't waste time on the enormous number of other applicants. If they ring, you have got a job. If they don't ring, then they preferred other candidates.

Remember that what matters is not how well you did, but how much better than the other candidates you were. You could score 95% - and still not get the job if others hit the 100%.

Asking the same question multiple times will not make their decision quicker.

Such obsessiveness could lose you jobs.
