I work at Kmart and called in sick one day. For some reason, I thought I didn't work the next day so I didn't show up. About two weeks ago, I also had to call in and say I couldn't work. I've been working here for a little over two month. I'm extremely nervous of getting disciplined. Can I be fired for calling in sick and not coming? And will that extra day just seal the deal? I could say I was also sick for the second day but that doesn't change the fact that I forgot to call. Anyone know what will happen to me?

I live in California and if the work laws are anyway related to your state than your in luck.if you call off sick for a day your ok but if it's 3 or more you WILL have to show proof of doctor note also if it's becoming a habit they could fire you anyway they can. so try and save those sick days for important times because there well be a time you'll mess up and need it.
