Why do big box companies don't hire direct?

Mark me if I am wrong but It seems that big companies such as Verizon, sprint, J&J amazon, Bristol myers , UPS etc don't hire direct, they seem to hire a third party vendor such as XYZ company to do the job and the job seeker will get hired by XYZ.

So it would be difficult for a new employee to obtain a good position for a big box company unless they came from a really good school or have extensive experience.

Some big companies tend to hire employees through agencies so that they can sort the nut cases out. From personal experience, if you hire 100 employees, about two or three of them are looking to find a reason to file a lawsuit. Even if it is a frivolous lawsuit it can cost the company $20 thousand to resolve it. These people think the way to succeed in life is to sue, not to work hard and earn a living.

you can think of yourself as a temporary employee if hired through XYZ. then if the big box company recognizes you as a worthwhile employee, perhaps after six months they will hire you directly.

They prefer Agencies who can weed the bad employees out. They also do the wages etc. it has nothing to do with where you went to school, all applicants have the same chance.

I agree with anonymous, your whole life is in YOUR hands
