I know that Louis Vuitton and Gucci own their own factories. They do not outsource production because of the risk of counterfeiting and theft. Louis Vuitton factories are in France and Gucci's are in Italy.

There is no single company that manufactures clothing. Each designer can put out bids to different manufacturers and get the products made where they want a contract.
Normally the companies would be competitive and keep them secret. They can also switch manufacturers any time.
i will recommend this site to you.
it is awesome!!!
Hello Ivan
Interesting question, and definitely you will never know how it works unless and untill you work in textile / clothing industry
i 200% agreed with Ann
i being a textile professional, knows the inside of this business
ALL THE BIG BRANDS HAVE FOLLOWING ,
have their own designers
have their sourcing team, who visit and search the factories having big production capacities
Their Sourcing Team send the inquiry to the selected factories and reserve the capacity , and ask the designer to send them designs for sampling purpose, One factory can successfully make the sample and get approved , they place the order with that factory
NOW Your Point Who Manufacture for them ?
01-On their Garments it is mentioned the COO ( Country Of Origin) , means the country where this garment is manufactured
02-They also have a Factory/Vendor Code, (This factory Code is Internally given by brand to that factory)
A-This is important because if the same style is placed in more than one factories they can easily identify the garment based on that vendor code, that this garment belongs to which factory
B-This is also important in case of any quality complaint from stores or from customer can help them to address the issue with the relevant factory
So you can never know that what is the name of factory, who produce the garment for them, unless and until you have contacts with apparel professionals, who can found that based on their contacts
Brands have given certain codes to the factories which are their internally generated.
i know some factories where they produce GUCCI, and they are definitely not owned by GUCCI :), ((Disagreement with KittySue Reply))

I am rather unusual when it comes to New Year's resolutions. I almost always keep them. For
years, I thought it was just my natural persistence that gave me an edge. Then, I dismissed
my success as stubbornness. Now I admit that I've been too safe.
