I have bought something on Amazon. The shipment tracking said that it would be here, April 1st, today. I checked the sight and it said that the package had indeed been delivered, but it's not here. The package was sent by USPS
How accurate is this? Who should I talk to about where my package?

It will be here in the next 2-3 days. depending upon the size of the package and the distance it has to come.
If you have your local post office's phone number, call as early (7am) and tell a supervisor your story to see if they can find the package. Perhaps they can solve your problem over the phone. Be sure to have the tracking number, addressee's name and address.
Some lazy UPS drivers will check a box called "Attempted delivery; resident not at home," so they don't have to actually get out of the van and knock on your door. Then you get forced to visit the UPS facility to pick up the package.
