I just started working for Walgreens last Monday, and I signed up for direct deposit. I checked my bank account and saw I haven't been paid. What's up? Is payday today? Could I have put my direct deposit info in wrong? (I'm positive I didn't). Is there a set time paychecks go out? Does it take direct deposit awhile to set up? What's going on? I don't go back into work until tomorrow evening.

Payroll is generally 1 pay period behind. You won't get paid the 1st pay period you are there, but your 2nd. But check with your supervisor to make sure. When you set-up your direct deposit, you gave your employer a canceled check right?

It takes the accounts payable people a little while to tabulate your hours, figure your tax obligations and write/post the checks, even in a corporation as large as Walgreens.

Are you sure you are supposed to be paid weekly? More likely it is every other week or monthly. Most companies need several days to a week to execute payroll. Your supervisor will have the answer.

It usually takes a couple of weeks for direct deposit to be finalized. In the meantime you will receive a paper check.

When you apply for direct deposit, you may receive a 'check' for a couple of weeks until the connection is made. Ask your supervisor.
