USPS QUESTION 2?/?

Posted at: 2015-07-28
Shipped on sunday via express, monday was holiday, was told it would be here today. I live in a rural area, the mail just came and there was only 1 letter which pissed me off.. Isn't a different carrier bound by law to bring the express package later because of the gurantee?

Thanks

Ricki is correct. You should have the tracking number if given it by the sender to see where the item is. Any guarantee is only about postage money return, though they are very good about getting things delivered on-time. There are events such as weather affecting trucking or flight delays or cancellations that delay a shipment. EVen accidents happen. Unfortunately, with the Sunday as non-business and Monday as Federal holiday, it does not officially go out until Tuesday and expected Wednesday, if overnight and your address may prevent overnight which the sender may not know as shipping on a Sunday with no personnel to explain it.

Circumstances happen, and you show a triple witching of events. Try to get its status. Should get there today or tomorrow. The sender MAY be due a refund, but in overnight sending, that is usually not much satisfaction.

Its not bound by law, its a contract. The USPS guarantees delivery at either 12 noon or 3 pm for express but the most you will get back is the cost of shipping, nothing more. Sometimes your carrier will deliver the express but occasionally someone else in the office will. Do check the tracking, it may not have arrived in your local post office...meaning it could have got lost in the shuffle.

Nope

The sender, if they paid to have it guaranteed delivery today and it wasn't, they can apply to get their money back from the USPS. I did that for an overnight package and they said to watch the delivery date, if it didn't get there by the specified date, bring in my receipt to a USPS office and the printout showing the actual delivery date and I would get my money back.

For you, you just get to wait till tomorrow.

How can u know if it wasn't guarenteed? They have scheduled delivery dates for express packages and I was told by retired USPS it would be here today. No they didnt apply to get their money back trust me on this one.
