My parents wrote a check for a senior field trip at my school, but they only take cash apparently for the trip. Could I cash that check at Walmart even though it says "pay to the order of..." and then my school's name?

No. Only who its issued to could cash it.

Checks can sometimes be cashed if the person its written out to has signed the back of it but you'd have to do it at your bank or the issuer's bank.

Walmart is just for cashing paychecks, not personal checks.
