I applied to Macy's online 2 days ago. I immediately got an email that said they were reviewing my application and that I should receive an update on my status shortly. I don't know what they mean by shortly, how long do you think it would take for them to respond to me. Thanks in advance.

The immediate response was automatic to say your application was received you may never hear from a person. Keep applying for jobs until you get offers.

You might have gotten an auto-reply when you did it.

You could look down to the bottom of the web page.

And look for the contact us link or email.

Companies deal with many applicants each and everyday.

You can either wait for a few days.

Or do that.

They get hundreds of applications...you are not the only one that applies online. Give them a couple of weeks to process the influx of applications.

In two weeks, you can send them an email or give them a call to find out the "status" of your application.
