In my town, we don't have any coffeehouse like "Starbucks". The only way to get coffee is at your house or at a friend's.
I want to start something like Starbucks in my town... Slowly expand in neighborhoods.
I need a name that is simple and catchy again like "Starbucks".
Catchy and creative
Gordon Bowker tells the story about how Starbucks ― the coffee store and the name ― was his idea. He wanted it to start with ST and somebody somehow came up with an old mining map of the Cascades and Mount Rainier, and there was an old town called Starbo. As soon as I saw Starbo, I, of course, jumped to Melville's first mate [named Starbuck] in Moby-Dick.
This is how the founder for Starbucks came up with the name
So pick a couple of letters and look for names that you like. That was a winning formula for Starbucks.
Hey, that's an awesome idea! I'm assuming you already have the capital for a start up? Food service is an expensive business to run, and you might need some kind of state license to sell things for consumption.
All that aside, if you're starting it right there in your neighborhood, you can't go wrong with something to do with location. Get the name of your town or neighborhood in there, and if you hit it big and go franchise, it'll get a little attention for y'all.
Or you could always have your name or nickname in it. If you want the fame :)
Name it after yourself, like Rick's Coffee House. The name will advertise what it is. Only don't offer just coffee. Aldo offer muffins, donuts and other pastries to go with coffee and hot chocolate.
Mocha East of Java. It's a take on the mocha-java blend and the classic movie "Krakatoa East of Java".
Express Grind
Coffee Shop.
Your town's name and "Coffee House"
If you are selling only coffee, not donuts or sandwiches, how about " JustJava"
Moonquid (you wanted it to be like Starbucks - well, star - into moon, bucks - into quid ) :) Good luck!
