Replugicans like to say it only help those making min wages which is a lie. It helps everyone from the Current Min Wage up to ONE PENNY BELOW the proposed NEW Min Wage...So Everyone from $7.25 to $16.99 would be effected but GOPers will keep this lie going.

So, agree?
Your numbers aren’t even close. Minimum wage was established in 1938, at 25 cents an hour CPI-W since then has increased times between 16 and 17. 17 times .25 would be 4.25 an hour. You really don’t want to go to the equivalent of the original 1938 minimum wage. The highest that minimum wage has risen when compared to CPI was in 1968. Minimum wage then was 1.60 an hour. CPI-W since then has risen between times 6 and 7. So even comparing the highest it’s ever been in US history, and just after a minimum wage increase, is between 10 and $11 today with inflation, nowhere near your number.
You are right that it would help anyone currently under the new minimum wage, But would hurt everyone over that, not just the rich. And due to price elasticity, a number of jobs would disappear. $17 an hour, or $15, would pretty much wipe out the fast food industry.
Yes Costco employees make a lot more per hour on average than WalMart employees. And Costco has several times fewer employees per sales dollar than WalMart. Each business model has both advantages and disadvantages for potential employees.
No it shouldn't. First you want the non achievers to be rewarded. All raising minimum wage does is give you a better wage for a short time. What happens is your employer must raise his prices to cover your wages and the wages of those places that he buys from. Then the prices go up and you end up in exactly the same place you were. What happens to those of us that have saved all our life is that my poor little savings have tremendously less buying power so my savings are worth so much less. An example is that when I started saving, I could have bought a vet for $5000...what are they now $60K.....And then there is my pension. Set long ago and what I receive can only buy less as time goes by and prices rise. And then there is the person that got an education and makes more than you. As you boost your wages, theirs don't go up and so you put yourself in a category that you don't belong. If you want more money, then get yourself an education or a skill so that you deserve what you make. Join the achievers instead of demanding more for bringing so much less to the job. All you bring is inflation to the rest of us...well, and yourself. Raising minimum wage hurts everyone. Get an education and find out.
the way the world is now, if the min wage was increased, a loaf of bread would cost $10 instead of the current $3, and the price of all goods would increase to the point of not being affordable to most people
no - $15-17 an hour for unskilled high school dropouts flipping burgers is ridiculous - a McDonalds meal will be at least $10 to cover that
