I have recently order ordered goods from Amazon, I had a estimate delivery date so I roughly knew when to keep an eye out for dispatch date and when the goods were in transist so I could take the day off to wait in for it. 6am I checked the status which said it was in transist and it would be with me that day so I took the day off to wait for the delivery, however, 6pm and still no show, so I called Amazon and they advised me it could be anything up to 9pm and that it would be with me in the next couple of hours. I then revived an email at 8pm saying that they had tried and failed to deliver the package, when I had clearly waited in all day specifically for the delivery. My point is, am I entitle to any compensation for the uneccessry time I've had off work waiting for a package that they had not attempted to deliver?
Any feedback from anybody's experiences around the matter would be very welcome.
Deliveries are not an exact science, and not completely under Amazon's control, the tracking number from the shipping company Amazon provides may be your best source of information.
Taking time off work seems impractical, specifying that you want ot pick up at the shipping company local facility is one alternative, or having it delivered to a neighbor who is always at home.
Call Amazon again.
Amazon's customer service is really good.

you misunderstood the tracking it MUST SAY OUT FOR DELIVERY -not "in transit" you misunderstood the info
its your fault
