This is my first week working at Walmart for overnight maintenance and im hearing that Walmart does not have to pay for overtime. I currently have 34 hrs on my weekly hrs but i work tonight and that'll be another 8 hrs. At first I was satisfied because I thought overtime was paid but then i was told by multiple employees at diffrent times that walmart does not pay overtime. And they said if you get too many hours you get written up for not managing your hours. But tthis morning right before i was about to clock out, my manager asked if i could zone and i said i couldnt cause i had to go, but i said it really because i wojt ne getting payed for it. My shift is from 10pm-7am and i usually clock in at 9:55 pm and clock out at 7:10am. Also Walmarts CBL's said i would get payed for overtime. Plesase help me. I really want to know about Walmarts overtime policy
Walmart must pay for overtime. That's both state and federal law.
You should ask your manager about it. Usually with retail you don't get payed over time unless you work on a holiday then you can get time and a half. With retail you get payed for the hours you worked.
Listen to your colleagues. Walmart has a long history of ******* over its employees.
Ask your boss or payroll dept.
